The Dakota Watch Company opened its doors in 1945 and since then, gained a reputation for high-quality precision and durable products. The company was founded by Albert Cooper under the name Cooper’s Fixery in Cincinnati, Ohio and at that time, their products consisted mainly of a large variety of services, from scissor sharpening to watch repair.

In the early 1980s, focusing more on watches sales and repairs, the company changed its name accordingly in Cooper’s Watchworks (or Cooper’s Watch World in some locations). Since then the company have grown to be one of America’s largest watch retailers and in 1996 its name was changed again, this time as Dakota Watch Company.

Today, the company is managed by Albert Cooper’s two sons, Martin and David Cooper, and has grown to over 200 watch stores locations across the United States (mainly in the western states).

What makes Dakota watch a popular product is the cutting edge design, the best quality components, a substantial guarantee, and if necessary, quick and easy service behind the sale. Since the company takes pride in their unmatched seven-step quality control program, all Dakota watches come with at least a five year manufacturer guarantee from the date of purchase.
