what does wireless ds multi card player 2-5 mean?

My kids each have a ds system. One is the DSi the other a DS. Does that mean the with a wireless ds multicard player 2-5 game, more than 2 players can play without having a game in each system. Or does each ds and dsi system have to have their own game in it before playing multi players.

it depends on the game some game have the option to only use one card and the others can download it other games like pokemon soul silver heart gold each play has to have the game so all players up to 5 need the game usaly it will say on the back of the game case how many players and so on or in maniual it will tell u hope this helped
