I’m not completely sure, but as opposed to having an economy based only on gold, bimetallism would help people in the ‘lower classes’, like farmers.
silver is pretty rare, but not as rare as gold, so more people, like farmers have access to it, which would give them a little more money, which is very helpful considering that many times they are broke.
It could also make the economy less dependent on the value of only one metal. If an economy is bade only on gold, and one day gold has lost all its value for some weird reason, then that economy is screwed.
Unless, it also had silver, and nothing happened to silver, so its economy wouldn’t have suffered as much as it could have. Its sort of like putting all your eggs in two instead of just one basket.
