Frequency bleeding on my multi-band receiver?

I just bought a (used) Worldstar multi-band receiver, and I’ve noticed that FM radio stations repeat on other frequencies. I pick up radio stations (although quieter and not as clear) on Air (108 – 135 FM) and also TV channels (for example, 93.7 picks up perfectly on TV channel 4). Is this normal? I had a multiband receiver before and this never happened, but it wasn’t a worldstar, although I don’t remember what brand it was… Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
I’m also picking up the radio on PB (173 FM)

It sounds like what you are experiencing is IMD, or Intermodulation distortion. It is usually caused by the front-end of a radio receiver being over driven by RF signals. Typically this is caused by nearby high power radio signals such as from close-by Radio Broadcasting or TV Broadcasting stations, or any near-by transmitter that has enough signal power to “over drive” you receiver front-end.
