How do I stop the tops of sleeves creasing when ironing the rest of a shirt.?
Ok, so I’m doing it in the correct order (collar, yoke, cuffs, sleeves and body). But when I get to doing the body of the shirt, invariably the sleeve crumples up a little when doing a part of the shirt body, and once the shirt is put on the hanger, these creases at the top of the sleeve are noticeable. Sometimes I try to iron these creases out in the sleeve, which leads to even worse creasing in the body of the shirt whilst I’m doing that. I usually get cross then and give up.
Has anyone got any useful tips for preventing this creasing of the sleeve whilst ironing the main body of the shirt?
(:♥TayLee♥:) is correct to iron the sleeves last.
However, you can stuff socks, hand towels, etc.. into sleeve area to keep rounded during ironing. If the material is delicate, purchase some thin paper (such as gift wrapping tissue paper) and put into upper sleeves while on a hanger to relieve the ‘pressure’ on sleeve area. There are also sleeve ironing boards that can be purchased at any large discount store found near the full sized ironing boards.
