Why do the matrix crew all dress like goths?
I only just thought about it, having watched the matrix for the first time in 4 years this evening.
When theyre in the matrix they all dress like goths (black leather coats, big boots etc)… why?
What you’re thinking of is “Industrial Gothic”.
The dark bland clothing that was worn in the Matrix was supposed to resemble the dark, negative times taking place in the movie.
On that note, I doubt the Wachowski brothers who directed or Kym Barett who designed the costumes for the film, we’re going in the direction of a specific “scene”.
Would you prefer they all looked like jocks?
