Engraved Unisex

Where can I order about 60 pencils engraved with individual names, not all the same name, (cheaply)?
I’ve just started working in a school, and as it’s my first year I wanted to get the kids a nice end of year gift that’s unisex and relevant. I came up with the idea of engraved pencils, one or two for each child with their name on. However, I can only find places that sell/engrave them on bulk with one name, or charge at least £10 for individual pencils. When i need about 60, that’s a bit much. Any ideas??
If it is the sort of class where everyone is always yammering that someone else has got their pencil and won’t give it back, I think named pencils are a brilliant idea. However, I do believe the cost of individual pencils is bound to be prohibitive. Would it work to buy thick wooden-surface pencils (maybe the ones that are triangular in cross-section, so you get a better surface) and put their initials and maybe a little design on yourself with a permanent marker or something like glass paint?
Anyway, you are to be applauded for NOT just buying the class sweets, which is the easiest thing to do.
