Whats the difference between emo, goth, and scene kids?

Sorry, THIS QUESTION IS NOT MEANT TO OFFEND PEOPLE lol, im just trying to understand other people these days…
Im not/ever wanted to be emo or anything im just curious.
Define emo
Define goth
Define scene
and then tell me why so many kids are goin that style

“True” Emo: Back in the early 80′s(I think), Emo was a genre of popular music. People who were into that genre would dress up to show their appreciation of it.
Current Emo: A depressed 12 year old who has hair hanging in front of their eyes, slits their wrists after a break-up, listens obsessively to MCR and Mariana’s Trench, and wears too small skinny jeans.

True Goth: Goth is a music genre. Popular Gothic Bands are: Christian Death, Bauhaus, The Sisters of Mercy, Skeletal Family etc. People who are into the Gothic music genre wear dark colors (particularly black) to show their appreciation of the music. (Fact: They do not want to kill everybody!)

Current Goth: Mall Goth is the Mainstream Goth of current. They wear theatrical clothing, listen obsessively to shock-rocker Marilyn Manson, Cradle of Filth, Evanescence, etc, and wears the style of clothing seen on ‘fuckthemainstream’ on vampirefreaks.com. True Scene: No such thing, although there’s a certain style of music associated with the so-called Scene ‘culture.’
Current Scene: A kid who’s too wimpy to go Current Emo or Current Goth. Why so many kids are going that style: As of late, many people have lost the ability to think for themselves. Teenagers generally follow the crowd like a herd of sheep. Whatever is ‘in’ at the moment will be created into something that, unfortunatly, becomes a daily sighting no matter where you turn.
These ‘stereotypes’ aren’t all based on style of dress however. They’re a form of culture, even lifestyle for some. Basically, the “True” emos and goths are dedicated, or even just a fan, of the music. It’s all based around music.
The Posers and current popular form of these Cultures and genres generally don’t listen to the music.
