Is there any débutante traditions that involve the girl giving a gift to her partner?
I heard someone say that there was a tradition where she gives him cuff-links.
Also, should the guy get the girl a gift? The same person also told me that it’s traditional for him to get her a necklace or a bracelet or something like that.
Are these traditions real, and are there any others?

I read the following in Emily Post under “Débutante Gifts”:
“Gifts are given to a débutante only by family and very close friends. They are not expected of others invited to the coming out ball or dance. Sometimes the escort or escorts of the débutante are expected to give her flowers or a corsage. When there is a cotillion or assembly and a committee organizing the ball, the committee determines whether the débutantes will wear flowers. Among gifts appropriate for débutantes are flowers delivered to her home, simple “good” jewelry, an ornament for the débutante’s room, a picture frame for her début portrait, perfume and good stationery.”
I did not see anything in this source about the débutante giving gifts to anyone.
I also did a quick Google on débutante escort gifts and every site I looked at said no gifts are required by either the débutante or her escort. One site referred the reader to Emily Post.
