I’m not a fan of the NSBA. Actually I think they are quite horrid. Any suspension by the AQHA is supposed to be a dual suspension with them also, as in you get suspended from the AQHA and they suspend you also. Yet when the Cleve Wells debacle broke wide open and everyone became aware of his behind-the-barn training antics that were leaving horses scarred, bloody, and with broken jaws they ignored his AQHA suspension that was a direct result of his abusive ways and are allowing that known horse-abuser to show in their organization through some sort of loop hole.

It just goes to show that they are yet another organization that prioritizes the welfare of the horse and their own reputation underneath the almighty dollar.

For hundreds of years millions of horses have been trained to go in snaffle bits. This is nothing new. It is also common knowledge that a ham-fisted rider yanking on that snaffle is much more harsh a rider than a light-handed rider that can properly train a horse to go in a curb. There is no “one way” with horses. There are good and evil points in all aspects of it, whether it be training methods, tack used, methods of care, etc. I’m sorry but you haven’t enlightened anyone with this revelation and you haven’t convinced me, user of curb bits on my western gaited horses, to switch to snaffles. And you used a piss-poor reference (the NSBA) to try and validate your point.
