would TARNISH RESISTANT SILVER COLOR COPPER WIRE irritate skin?
I’m trying to find the best kind of wire to make an ear cuff with, and I’d like to know if it would drive my ears insane if the wire comes in contact with skin, and is it half hard or dead soft?
If you think you might have metal allergies, you can apply clear fingernail polish to the finished item. That’s usually enough to keep skin from becoming irritated. Once you get your technique down, I’d suggest moving up to sterling or even gold-filled wires. Some craft stores sell it, and many bead stores sell it by the foot.
I would get half hard wire because it keeps it’s shape better. Dead soft is easy to bend and work with, but it also deforms easily.
