The Black Jewel Series… The Shadow Queen
So, have people read “The Black Jewel Series” and what do you think about it?
What do people think about the new book comin out “The Shadow Queen”, do you expect it to be in the same league as the others she as written?
Finally, who would be your best character in the books, mine? Deamon Sadi, Lucivar Yaslana because they make me laugh.
I enjoyed the series. I especially found the new rules and uses of magic, and the jewel codes, intriguing. I liked the idea of a child as dreams made flesh but I did enjoy her as a woman more. I do however believe there were a few too many violent sexual scenes. I never quite connected with Lucivar as well as I should have. But I loved Jaenelle and Saetan with Daemon close behind. I wish we got to understand more of the distinction that felt between herself and Witch. I always got the feeling that they were one person and indistinguishable but the ending leads me to believe that she lost more than just power but Witch as well.
I’m not looking forward to the new book at all, given that it is more about Lady Cassidy than Jaenelle. I think I got more attached to the characters and their humorous and complicated relationships than to the setting. Just my opinions and ideas…enjoy The Shadow Queen in March!
