Why don’t people like nickel plated pearl handled guns anymore?

I think they look fantastic. I saw a Spanish Llama .32 automatic pistol the other day. It was engraved, had a beautiful nickel finish, and had what I guess were faux mother-of-pearl grips. I really liked. I would have bought it on the spot if I could afford it.

I think it’s because of the change of the times and what it would cost to produce the same quality today. Today you have stainless or “tactical black” We used to call it bluing! I remember when bluing was blue. Now it looks like black paint. I like some stainless finishes,but a nice nickel plating beats it out every time! I’m old so I guess that’s why I like old things! I’m one of those old farts that even likes pretty wood on guns!
